Mamata Banerjee to visit Nandigram on March 10 to file her nomination

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that will be filing her nomination for the Nandigram Assembly constituency seat on March 10. The TMC leader is scheduled to reach Nandigram today and is set to file her nomination from Haldia on Wednesday, tomorrow.

During the announcement fo the TMC candidates list, Mamata Banerjee said,

“I am going to Nandigram on 9th March. On 10th March, I will file the nomination at Haldia.”

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party had placed Mamata Banerjee’s former ally and current BJP MP, Suvendu Adhikari to contest from there as well. This came right after Ms Banerjee’s announcement of candidature.

Previously, during the TMC supremo’s visit to Nandigram, she said,

“I want to request Subrata Bakshi (TMC general secretary), it is my wish, I will not neglect Bhabanipur, I will give a good candidate but I want my name in Nandigram. Due to my love for the place, I could not control my emotions”.

The 2021 Bengal elections will be held in 8 phases beginning from March 27. The last phase is scheduled for April 29. The results will be revealed on May 2, Sunday.
