Trinamool Leader Kunal Ghosh Summoned By Enforcement Directorate

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) which was charged to look for the money laundering aspect of the Saradha Chit Fund Case, has summoned TMC’s spokesperson Kunal Ghosh for inspection. Ghosh has been asked to appear before the official of the central agency on Tuesday. Sources within the agency said that the former Rajya Sabha MP has been asked to reach the CGO Complex office of the ED at the Salt Lake area of the city by 11 am on Tuesday.

Kunal Ghosh stated that he will definitely visit as he was always honoured by the investigation agency. He further stated that in October 2013, they had summoned him and he had submitted all the required documents to them. He is ready to submit all the documents again if needed.

Ghosh further pointed out that in 2015, the agency also filed a charge sheet and he was not named on it. He was the CEO of Saradha Media, which was busted in 2013 for its illegal operations. Ghosh was arrested by the West Bengal police in 2013 for his involvement in the chit fund scam. He spent 34 months in jail and in the custody of West Bengal Police and CBI. He got bail on October 5, 2016.
