Kamal Hassan, the founder of Makkal Needhi Maiam launched a scathing attack on DMK and its president MK Stalin. On the occasion of Women’s Day in Chennai, he reiterated his allegations that the DMK was copying MNM’s manifesto which promised for monthly salary to housewives. Pointing this, Hassan dubbed the DMK party as “dacoits”.
“Let them acknowledge it. If they want to copy from us, we have more such plans. Whether they acknowledge it or not, they should do good things” – Kamal Hassan.
Mocking at Stalin’s slogan ‘Stalin dhaan varaaru’, Hassan stated that the dacoits are declaring openly their arrival.
Kamal Haasan further added that poverty is something that should be carefully handled by those in power. It is not very tough to get rid of poverty, as there are only two countries that are more resourceful and rich – India and China – in that order. Hassan stated that this condition can be managed just by doing one thing, that is stop stealing public money. Mr Haasan said the party understood housewives contributed to the GDP of the State.
However, The MNM declared its alliance with the All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi led by R. Sarathkumar and T.R. Paarivendhar’s Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi on March 8, a party release said.
Haasan’s party will be contesting 154 assembly constituencies while AISMK and IJK will contest in 40 constituencies each. The full list of candidates will possibly be announced in the next few days.
