Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, the best ranking institute of India, has invited applications for its Executive MBA degree program or EMBA. The application process has started today, 20 September. Those who are interested can apply online at doms.iitm.ac.in. The last date to apply for this program is October 19. The results will be declared in November 2021. The classes will commence from January 2022 on alternate weekends.
Eligibility criteria and Selection process
- Applicants are required to have a first-class or 60% or above bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- They should have worked in the industry for at least three years.
- Candidates will be chosen based on their performance on the DoMS entrance exam and a personal interview which will virtually take place.
- Dates for the online test and interview are the 12th,13th, and 14th of November 2021.
Fees of EMBA program
The EMBA program has a total course fee of Rs. 13 lakhs (for Indian nationals). At the start of each semester, the fee can be paid in four installments (totaling 3.25 lakhs).
Also, IIT Madras has partnered with the Bank of Baroda for an educational loan for the course.
Aims of EMBA program
The goal of the EMBA program is to provide industry-relevant, cutting-edge expertise in areas like digital economy, global strategy, and Industry 4.0 technologies. The two-year degree program which is offered by the Department of Management Studies (DoMS) at IIT, Madras aimed at providing mid-career working professionals with a functional and integrative perspective as well as contemporary management understanding to lead a modern business organization.
What EMBA program offers?
Other than traditional subjects, the EMBA programs include subjects related to social media and internet marketing, the Economics of Platforms, and global business. It also offers subjects like Information Technology for Digital Economy, Cyber Security, and Applications. Besides this, students will also be exposed to technical areas such as Modern Manufacturing Processes, 3D printing, etc.

The EMBA program at IIT Madras offers classes on Weekends (Saturday/Sunday) helps students to balance their work-life while completing the Executive MBA degree program. It’s a challenging but practice-oriented curriculum that includes three projects that apply theory to live business issues.
